Baby Welcoming Ceremony
(For any family configuration that wishes to welcome Baby.)

I thoroughly enjoy the privilege of creating a welcoming ceremony such as a Baby Blessing or Naming Ceremony or whatever is representative of the beliefs and desires of the family. This lovely ceremony can be offered soon after the baby is born or anytime thereafter. To be welcomed into our world surrounded by the joyful circle of parents and community creates a positive and sweet impact on a child’s life that will energetically nurture and support him or her throughout the years.

Besides the parents the ceremony may include siblings, friends and members of the extended family. Special ceremonies may also be created for children coming into an adoptive family, a blended family or any other environment that has opened to receive that child.

In some instances arrangements may be made for me to join other clergy who may also be relevant to the family culture.

A Child’s Rite of Passage Ceremony

Many cultures celebrate the milestones in the child’s life according to their own customs. I am interested in bringing more of this practice to our times and culture in whatever way seems appropriate to the family. Because of our changing times and the need for more awareness of life’s many choices it feels important to honor a child as they move through the various stages toward maturity.

Child's Rite of Passage CeremonyComing into adolescence is always a favorite ceremony when a child can celebrate, with confidence, the movement from childhood into the intermediary level before actual adulthood. It seems to be a relief to parents and a joy for children to become aware of the balance between new freedoms and new responsibilities. No matter what the age, however, a relevant ceremony can be created to honor a specific event or stage in a child’s life.

It would be my joy and privilege to officiate at commitment ceremonies for same sex partners. These offerings would have the identical options to my weddings but without the sanction of the state.

Vow Renewal

Vow RenewalIn these very unusual times and in all times, we look to love to sustain us. We look to the earth and the heavens and we look to each other. We are the light and the joy, the nurturer and the nurtured, the laughter and the tears, and we are the constant, solid as the sacred earth we walk upon, as we hold each other’s hand through this journey called life. When we have found love, we find ourselves living in the abode of the heart.

So, there comes a time in any relationship when gratitude and appreciation for one another calls to be recognized and honored. A ceremony that marks this honoring brings a freshness and delight to those who have, over the years, come into a comfortable routine with one another. Now, your own vows, renewed in your own words from this present moment, can create a sacred new beginning to brighten the love that already exists between you.
