My great joy at this point turns out to be creating beautiful ceremonies that mark the significant moments along the path of life. I am always privileged and humbled to be able to officiate at such significant moments in the lives of others and my intent is to bring joy and lasting memories that will serve those involved for years to come. My path has led me to Interfaith Ministry which honors diversity and the celebration of the human journey. I am always happy to work with other clergy when so desired.
On June tenth 2004 Frances Curtis Barnhart was ordained as an Interfaith Minister by The New Seminary at St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City. She is certified to officiate at weddings and other sacred ceremonies in New York City and the Commonwealth of Virginia and can be certified in most other states with advance notice. In October 2006, Barnhart was remarried and moved to Roanoke, Virginia where she resides with her husband, Maurice Barnhart. She is currently studying Marshall Rosenberg’s course in Compassionate Communication, writing her second memoir, enjoying her ten grandchildren and officiating at weddings and other ceremonies. It is here she has manifested her dream, Shenandoah All Faith Ministry, where she expands on the work she has always loved. Prior to that she has done many things, had many experiences and adventures. She has had some glory, some rejection, some suffering and some ecstasy but mostly her time has been spent filling ordinary days.
”All of this has brought me to who I am today and I am finally learning that NOW is what matters most. So I have deleted the details of my past and am focusing on the present moment, looking to the future, my future, your future, our future, because we are all in this together, but living in the present moment that is NOW.”
